Joe and I had the extreme pleasure of jetting off for our honeymoon in O'ahu two days after our wedding. We had an amazing time and are so grateful to my grandparents for sending us there and letting us stay at their beautiful timeshare.
I could probably write an entire blog post about every single day we were there, we had so many adventures and learned so many amazing things about the Hawaiian culture. I decided instead to share some of our photo highlights from each day. This trip was a truly magical and I honestly can't imagine starting our marriage any other way. We were able to relax and reflect on the amazing day we spent with our closest friends and family, while enjoying beautiful weather, spectacular views, delicious food, incredible adventures, and the friendliest people. Take a peek inside our trip to O'ahu! (and as I explained to all of my family, O'ahu is a Hawaiian island, Honolulu is the city, and Waikiki is the beach)

Dear Iowa State,
Thank you for everything you've given me in four years. Thank you for the millions of opportunities to learn, grow, and improve myself. Thank you for the lifelong friends I met on my very first night in the dorms. Thank you for the invaluable education I received that will propel me toward my dreams. Thank you for supporting me when I was uncertain and for encouraging me in all of my endeavors. Thank you for giving me room to grow while also making me feel comfortable in my environment. Thank you for allowing me to be myself. Thank you for helping me create myself. Thank you for everything. It's been a beautiful ride. Loyal. Forever. True. Today I woke up and decided to be positive. Got my butt out of bed, finished an essay, ate a wonderful breakfast, and hit the gym, all before noon. There's a lot going on in the world, right now and all the time. Sometimes we're not thrilled by the things that go on around us, but we always have so much to be thankful for. There's always a reason to be positive. Stay focused on the good. Show love. Spread kindness everywhere you go.
So here's my contribution to the positive thoughts today: pictures of the spectacular autumn we've had this year. I love fall. I love the chill, sweaters, flannels, layers, boots, not sweating walking to class, sunshine, leaves changing colors. There's no better place to spend the best season than Iowa. Ames, IA is my personal favorite, but it's all good. |
